The Bathroom is Finished

Here is the jetted tub. Boy, it is relaxing!!
This is the shower with clear glass enclosure, which is supposed to be easy to clean. (because their is no metal frame for stuff to get caught in) We love the design that Melissa designed and Lyle the tile man did a beautiful job installing.

The pendant lights and the vessel sinks give the room a pretty modern look. The design of the room is fun and very different from the old bathroom.

The New Bathroom

Here are the latest pics taken today 10/10. We just need the glass shower enclosure, pendant lights and to patch and paint the wall behind the mirror.

Almost Finished!

This morning we are working on sealing the grout. The glass enclosure for the shower will be put in the end of this week. The electriction will come sometime this week and hang the pendant lights. We need to patch and paint the wall behind the new mirrors. I think it really looks better that these pictures show. Don't you think those clear vessel sinks are kind of fun! When I walk in our new bathroom, I feel like I have walked into someone elses house.

Summer Travels

We went to a Japanese garden in Portland.
We drove from Portland, down the coast to San Franciso. We had to eat some of that fabulous crab on the warf.

We drove through the Redwood Forest. The subbie had a great time driving thru the huge redwood.

Wow, what a tree.

We went throught the Oregon Caves, on our way down the coast. The hike through the caves was about a mile. We saw many cool rock formations.

Summer 09 - Ya! Time To Travel

We went on a cruise to Alaska. We got a great deal and couldn't resist. He had an amazing time. The weather was beautiful, warm and clear. WOW, what magnificent scenery we saw. You all have got to go to Alaska some time!!! This picture is in Skagway.
We took a train to the top of White Pass, which is the edge of the Yukon Territory.

This, of course, is my cute little hubby. The ship is leaving Whittier, where he started the cruise.

Our Summer Travels

We drove to portland Oregan to visit with Tom sisters, Patsy and Carol. We also had a great time visiting with Catherine and Brett. Micheal and Bea were also visiting from St. Louis along with cute little daughter, Sofia. Tom's mother was also in Oregan visiting. It was a great reunion. These picutes were taken at a park in Portland. Everything is so green and lush there, quite a change from our desert home.

Spring Vacation Cruise-April 2009

Tom and I went on a southern Caribbean cruise for our Spring Vacation. Adam and Christy decided to come on the trip with us. We had an incredible time. In a week we went to 6 ports. We boarded the ship in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our ports of call were, St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, Antiqua, St. Lucia and St. Kitts. Wow, did we ever visit some totally beautiful beaches, with crystal clear water and light, fine sand.

Tom and the ship in Dominica.

Reboarding the ship in St. Kitts.

At the end of the cruise, we had the opportunity to visit a fort and wall that surrounds "Old San Juan," which was built by the Spanish 300 or 400 years ago to protect the island. San Juan is a beautiful city and Old San Juan in very interesting to visit. All four of us got to stay in San Juan an extra night, because the airlines over booked the flights and were looking for people to give up their seats and go home the next day. We all got vouchers for free airfare on another flight somewhere else in the coming year. Oh, so sad! We are currently exploring the possibilities for another great trip next spring.

We perfected the system for finding the beautiful beaches. You just get off the ship and find a cab driver and pay them to take you to a great beach. (Much creaper and better that going thru the cruiseline shore excursions) This is a beach in Antiqua. We think the best beaches were on St. Thomas, Antiqua, Barbados, and St. Lucia. Tom, Adam and Christy are all certified divers and went diving on St. Lucia. All three of them said, it was the most amazing dive they had ever been on.

Sunset on the ship before going to the dining room to eat dinner.

An awesome beach on Antiqua.

St. Thomas-- We went to Magans Beach, which is a wonderful beach. We rented a car and drove around the island, too. This is our 3rd visit to St. Thomas. We love this island, it is charming and very beautiful. But I must say, we didn't visit one island that was ugly and we didn't really enjoy. If you twisted our arms, we would go back to any one of them for another visit. Actually, it wouldn't take much convincing at all.
